Wall Tents With Stove Recommendations

  • 8’ x 10’, 10’ x 12’ Wilderness 3 or Yukon 3
  • 1’2 x 14’, 14’ x 16’ Wilderness 4 or Yukon 4
  • 16’ x 20’, 16’ x 24’ Wilderness 5 or Yukon 5

Canvas Tent With Stove Upgrade Recommendations

12’ x 14’ or 14’ x 16’. If you could ever find yourself in very cold conditions, a Wilderness 5 or Yukon 5 is recommended. Wilderness 5 is 30% larger than Wilderness 4.

Some other companies in their 12’ x 14’ package have a small stove that will not adequately heat a 12 x 14 tent.

We have a medium-sized stove in our package that will easily heat a 12’ x 14’ or a 14’ x 16’.

6' Side Wall Option Available

  • 6' side walls provide much more headroom and usable space in your canvas tent with stove. 6' walls allow a person to get next to a wall without hitting their head against rafters or canvas roof.
  • Some companies only have 4' 7" sidewalls, which severely restricts how much space you can actually use.
  • Strongly recommend you ask your suppliers the finished height of side walls before purchasing, so you will not be surprised or disappointed upon delivery.
  • 6-foot option only available on FIRE, water, and mildew-treated canvas tents with wood stoves.

Wilderness Canvas Tent Standard Features

Your canvas tent with wood stove will include $200 worth of free options for some other tent companies.

  • FREE BACK DOOR OR BACK WINDOW. Free back door or back window included with your canvas tent with stove - your choice. $50 free feature.
  • FREE DOUBLE LAYER OF CANVAS ON RIDGE. Significantly reinforces the ridge. Some tent companies charge $75 to $200 for this feature. Very necessary when using lodge pole frames. The tent roof will tear or rip easily if the lodge pole is not smooth when the pole is being pushed through the ridge pole openings.
  • FREE STORM FLAP/COLORADO DOOR. 8" storm flap with buckle protects front & back door zippers. Helps keep out the wind. A $45 to $60 option on some tents.
  • FREE REINFORCED EAVE WITH WEBBING ENTIRE LENGTH OF EAVE. This free upgrade, included with your canvas tent with stove, is much stronger than eaves with no reinforcement.
  • FREE STEEL D RINGS SEWN INTO WEBBING. Much stronger than tents with metal grommets pressed into canvas eaves.
  • STOVE JACK OPENING. 5 1/2 inches. 6-inch available by cutting out just before the stitched 6-inch pattern. Most stoves require a 5 1/2 inch hole; otherwise, there is too much stove pipe slack, causing the pipe to move excessively during windy conditions. Stove jack is located on the roof in the front left corner of your tent - 30" from the front door and 30" from the top of the sidewall.
  • VINYL SOD CLOTH. 10" vinyl sod cloth sewn onto the bottom of the wall of the canvas tent with stove. Acts as an air seal and keeps the canvas off the ground. Prevents water from wicking up the canvas walls of wall tents with stoves.
  • TENT BAG. Some companies charge $35 for a tent bag. Rolled up inside of tent.
  • RIDGE OPENINGS FOR LODGE POLE. Flaps seal openings when the lodge pole is not used.
  • FRONT ZIPPERED DOOR, YKK #10. The highest quality heavy-duty zipper made.
  • 200 FEET OF ROPE AND 20 TENSIONERS are rolled up inside the tent.
  • 5' SIDEWALLS - provide much more headroom. Not 4' 8" like some tents. 6' Sidewalls are also available as an upgrade. Walls are measured from the outside of the canvas tent with wood stove.
    • WALLS ARE FULL 5' OF CANVAS. Some unusually designed tents have only 4' walls with 18" of vinyl sewn onto the bottom of the tent. The 18" sod cloth cannot be staked down properly, and wind blows under the sod cloth, creating a tent that is difficult to heat in cold weather. Additionally, the sod cloth will flap in the wind, making for a less-than-enjoyable camping experience.
    • Tents must have the canvas walls touching the ground to stake the walls to the ground to prevent wind from blowing under the tent walls.
    • Windows are 30" x 30" and have screens. Not small triangle windows that provide much less ventilation.

*Tent weights and ridge height charts are at the bottom of the page.*

General Information

CANVAS TENT WITH STOVE JACK

The wilderness tent model has a 5.5-inch stove jack opening. If necessary, the tent stove jack opening can be increased by cutting out the 6-inch pattern.

CANVAS HOT TENT WITH STOVE

There are different ways to describe a hot tent with a stove. All standard designs of canvas tents and wall tents with stove meet the definition of a canvas hot tent. Any canvas shelter that can use a wood stove for the purpose of heating. All canvas hot tents with a stove must have a fireproof hot tent stove jack that allows the stove pipe to pass through the roof or sidewall.

CANVAS HOT TENT WITH STOVE JACK

It is best to have the hot tent stove jack go through the roof. A hot tent stove jack going out the side wall does not draw well. Additionally, a stove pipe going out of a hot tent wall should have 2 elbows redirecting the stove pipe directly up for a better draw. When using an elbow on the outside of the hot tent, it is recommended that a metal support be used to prevent the stove pipe from becoming loose and separating.

CANVAS HOT TENT WITH FLOOR

A canvas hot tent with a sewn-in floor is available in the Selkirk spike tent model. All Wilderness tents and Montana canvas tents with stoves have an option for a loose floor that is just laid on the ground. Regardless of which type of canvas hot tent floor you purchase, it is strongly recommended that you have fireproof material below the stove to prevent the floor from melting or catching on fire.

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO TENT SHOP PRICES COMPARE WITH OTHER INTERNET TENT COMPANIES?

Our wall tents with stoves are normally the lowest price on the internet, with top-quality construction and outstanding customer service. Order your canvas tent with wood stove with full confidence.

WHAT SIZE OF STOVE IS REQUIRED?

  • 8’ x 10’ or a 10’ x 12’ tent requires our Wilderness 3 stove or Camp 3 stove, which is included in the price.
  • 12’ x 14’ or 14’ x 16’ canvas tent with stove requires Wilderness or Camp 4 stove.
  • 16’ x 20’ or 16’ x 24’ tent requires Wilderness 5 or Camp 5 stove

If you expect to be in extreme cold, it is recommended to choose one size larger for the 8’ x 10’ through 14’ x 16’ tents.

CAN A CUSTOMER SWITCH OUT THE WILDERNESS AND CAMP STOVES FOR A DIFFERENT STOVE MODEL?

Yes. The tent has a standard 5 1/2" stove jack with a pattern to cut out to 6" if necessary. The tent will accommodate every stove offered. The total price will be adjusted if the stove you select costs more or less than the wilderness or camp stoves included in the canvas tent with stove package.

WHAT ARE THE SAFETY REQUIREMENTS FOR A CANVAS TENT WITH STOVE?

If using a floor, a stove floor mat is required to prevent coals from possibly falling out of the stove door when opened. The stove floor mat can also be used for wall protection if heavy winds are expected that could billow your tent wall close to the stove.

A fire extinguisher is always recommended when using a canvas tent with wood stove.

Do not overload your wood stove, and have the air intake vent wide open. Your stove will turn red hot, and even the stove pipe will turn red. The stove jack is fireproof, but having a red-hot stove and stove pipe can turn into a dangerous situation.

Always keep your spark arrestor on the top stove pipe. A spark arrestor helps prevent sparks from landing on your roof.

IS THERE HEAT RETENTION IN A CANVAS TENT WITH STOVE?

Yes, as long as the stove is in operation. The tent is semi-sealed to keep the wind from blowing in. The tent stove will quickly heat a tent. Based on outside temperature, a person will learn by experience how much wood is necessary and the amount of air intake is required for a comfortable temperature inside the tent.

When the fire goes out in your stove, the temperature inside the tent will drop quickly, as there is very little insulation in a canvas tent.

SHIPPING BAGS for floors, fly, extended fly, porches, and cook shacks options are not large enough to be used for storage bags.

RECOMMENDATION: ALWAYS KEEP YOUR TENT ROOF AND FLY TAUT SO WATER CAN QUICKLY BE REMOVED FROM YOUR CANVAS TENT WITH WOOD STOVE. Water can collect on the roof in an "eave trough," which is a low area just before the sidewall created by a not-tight roof or loose fly.

The canvas should be very taut on the frame of your wall tent with stove, especially if the canvas tent with stove is going to be set up for an extended period of time, and a fly should always be used. The fly should also be tight to avoid water in the eave trough. Water will eventually go through the fly if saturated for weeks. Canvas saturated in water will rot and mildew regardless of water and mildew protection applied. There is no warranty for eave rot.

FIRE RESISTANT CANVAS: Meets CPAI 84 fire retardant code. If a tent is not specifically treated for fire resistance, it will burn quickly. Fire-resistant canvas will only burn when there is a flame source present on the canvas. When you remove the flame source from the canvas tent with stove, the wall tent will stop burning. However, there is no wall tent made that will not burn.

Eufy 30C is MARVELOUS!
Size: 07-C30
I purchased this Eufy 30C after 6 months of chiding from my sister, who has one. Eufy - where have you BEEN my whole life! I have uneven saltillo tile floors in this home - I was sweeping floors nearly everyday just trying to keep the floors clean in this desert environment. On a daily basis, I just could NOT keep the floors clean enough for our barefoot habits. This vacuum cleans VERY well! I turn it loose every day - it cleans under furniture and beds, it cleans my lower-nap area rugs very nicely. I use the Auto mode (random cleaning pattern). The bumper is gentle on furniture legs and walls, the sweeper automatically goes into/out of baseboard cleaning - it cleans all along the walls! Most rugs I can leave in place and let the sweeper clean those, also. The few rugs that do get caught up in the brush, I just pick up before starting the cleaning. I have moved cords so they are permanently not in the way, so I only had to deal with those issues once. The suction on this vacuum is terrific - the combination of the spinning side brushes and the roller brush pick up everything. If the sweeper has been there, the area is spotless! It moves easily from floors to rugs. I normally run the sweeper as we are having breakfast - it is very quiet, although a little "rattling" as it moves across these saltillo tiles. I have used the daily programmed mode, but personally prefer to run it when I am "ready" (some rugs picked up). The vac does not ever seem to "miss" a room using this random pattern, and eventually it seems to get everywhere in a room. It just roams around the house and does it's thing - WITHOUT my help, and better job than I did on a daily basis! I have a large, heavy-nap area rug that I prefer to run the regular sweeper on once a week rather than have my Eufy waste sweeping power there. I placed the boundary strips under the very edges of that rug to keep the Eufy off. This works most times although, occasionally, Eufy finds his way onto that carpet, anyway. I have to remind myself, but I do use an upright sweeper on all the rugs and a canister sweeper for the tile about every one to two weeks. I empty the waste container everyday when cleaning is finished (I am always amazed at how much this sweeper "finds" and picks up!). I also clean the filters everyday with a small, battery powered hand vac (opposite the direction of airflow of the Eufy). This seems to remove the fine dust from the filter. I did purchase an additional filter set. Each week, I change the filter to a clean one, and wash out the used filter under running-spray tap water and let it dry. The filters are disposable pressed paper (and a small foam filter sheet that is also washable), but I have interchanged these two filters for 6 months and they are still working just fine. Emptying the waste container and cleaning/changing the filters is extremely easy and fast. I clean the roller brush of hair and carpet fuzz as needed. I have contacted the company with questions and they were extremely responsive. I also had the brush guard replaced from the company without any issues or questions at all. Customer service was very nice. (I believe the uneven tiles just wore on a very small rubber piece and it eventually came off. Looking back, I really don't believe it affected the performance of the sweeper, or the brush guard, at all. If it happens again, I probably will not bother to replace it). I cannot think of one dislike I have of this Eufy 30c. I believe the price was extremely reasonable for the excellent job it does. It has made a big difference in the attitude I have about this house as the one, most annoying, issue I had - seemingly constantly dirty floors - is now a non-issue. If this sweeper broke down tomorrow, I would have trouble getting another here fast enough!

Awesome robo-vac/mop with rotating mop head/no pads.
Size: E25 Black
I owned a Narwal Freo for 1 year and it died right after the warranty period was up. Tried replacing the battery but that did not fix the issue so I had to purchase another one. I noticed this eufy had high reviews and the 1 star reviews seemed to be just isolated issues so I purchased this one. Right away I noticed that the instructions/setup was much more simple. Second this one has a big wide mop roller on the front and after mopping I didn't see the mop streaks in circular patterns on the floor like I did with the Narwal as it had two rotating mop heads on the front so the single mop roller seems to be a better solution. Setup consisted of removing protective wrappers off of the tanks and base station, filling up the clean water tank, installing the detergent bottle and plugging it in. Next I downloaded the app and connecting the vac/mop to my network. This was SIMPLE to say the least. From there I could have just clicked clean on the app and it would clean the entire house. However, mapping gives you more flexibility when planning your cleaning ritual. You can define no go zones and clean rooms in any order you choose. I have a shedding dog so I have a separate robovac to clean up the dog hair prior to vac/mopping. This is a MUST with any robovac/mop combo as the dog hair on the floor will mix with the water and detergent and eventually prevent the mop from doing a good job. It will make a mess in the bottom tray of the base station too. I learned this through experience and reading all the one star reviews from customers. Robovac only cleaners last a LONG time. I had one that is still working great for over 3 years. All I had to do was replace the battery so it doesn't have to pause the job to recharge. So the mapping only took 4 minutes and it was pretty accurate. After the mapping I defined the room boundaries and renamed the rooms. Next I sent it off to clean and it did a FABULOUS JOB! No streaks and the floors are clean. The noise level is really low and more quiet than the Narwal. The other thing I noticed is it didn't use up much water to rinse the mop while cleaning. The Narwal used a lot of water and I was always dumping dirty water and adding fresh. I will always have a robomop and robovac as they save me so much time by not having to do this job twice a week. Connectivity to my network is excellent as it's in a location far from the router. This vac/mop is a good value for the money if IT LASTS BEYOND 1 YEAR. I will update this review as necessary and if it fails right after the warranty period I will report and downgrade this review to 1 star. These companies need to learn the importance of reliability and correct these issues. When I first reviewed the NARWAL it had almost a perfect 5 star review from all customers. After the year was up and it failed that star rating went down to 3+ stars. Most reviews reported their robovac/mop just died like mine did after the warranty period. I downgraded my review and reported the issue. I'm hoping this one will last because at the moment I am VERY satisfied with it like most customers. This model has been on the market much longer at the time of purchase so I would suspect if there were any reliability flaws they would have been addressed and corrected by now. We shall see. At this time I highly recommend!!

Excellent Robot Vacuum, Especially for the Price
Size: 11S, Size: 11S
I have been an iRobot Roomba buyer since 2007. My last Roomba bit the dust this month, and I did a ton of research before buying a replacement. I went with the Eufy for a few reasons: price point, cleaning power, quietness, and sleek design. Price: Very reasonable. Almost reasonable enough that I'd consider getting another one for my second floor. For now I'll just carry it upstairs. Cleaning power: This thing sucks... It's suction is much stronger than my Roombas have had. It picks up so much dust and pet hair. We do a full vacuum every other week with my Dyson, so I think of the robot vacuum as a supplemental vacuum. I was shocked at how much was in the dustbin after it's inaugural cleaning! The picture attached to this is from that cleaning. It also gets a ton of dust in the little dust filter. In one of the video reviews I watched, the reviewer said it didn't pick up anything in that dust filter... So maybe my carpet is particularly dusty, because it has a thick layer after each cleaning. Quietness: I work from my home office, and this thing is quiet enough that I don't even turn it off during conference calls. This might be the thing I am most impressed with. My last Roomba was LOUD-- you couldn't even have a conversation with someone in the same room, let alone someone on speakerphone. Sleek design: I love/hate this. It definitely looks modern and cool, and more like an art piece than an appliance, but it shows all my finger prints, and now I keep a glasses cleaning cloth nearby so I can rub it down. I suppose if I only use the remote and never pick it up, this won't be an issue. A few considerations: I was hoping to find a robot vacuum that wouldn't eat my carpets' tassels, but I don't think that vacuum exists. I have only used the Eufy 4 times so far, and it doesn't always get its brushes wrapped around the long tassels, but it does sometimes. It seems to realize it sooner than my Roomba did at least. The Roomba would sometimes rip gobs of them off in a single cleaning. I try to tuck them under the edge of the rug and that doesn't seem to bother Eufy. It has pulled off probably 2 tassels so far. The cleaning pattern seems pretty random. I saw some other vacuums that chart out complex maps of your home, and Eufy doesn't seem to do that. But, it doesn't seem to matter, because it still hits every spot in the rooms. I'm a little concerned about durability. My Roombas ran for many, many years with easily replaceable parts. We'll have to see if Eufy has the same longevity. All in all- I'm very happy with my purchase and definitely recommend it!

Robot Vacuum With Decent Cleaning but Too Much Maintenance
Size: E28
This robot vacuum was fairly simple to set up, and the battery life is actually pretty good. When it comes to cleaning, it does a solid job picking up dirt and debris, and overall the suction works well for everyday vacuuming. However, the navigation and sensors really missed the mark for me. It struggled to recognize certain items around my house. For example, the mat under my cat’s food bowl kept getting caught because the vacuum didn’t detect it properly. It also had trouble recognizing furniture like my ottomans and would repeatedly run into them. Another issue was how it handled different floor types. It’s supposed to be able to recognize surfaces like carpet versus hard flooring, but that didn’t always work correctly. At one point it even tried cleaning my carpet when it shouldn’t have. It also struggled with room detection and didn’t consistently recognize different areas of my home, even when placed directly in them. I bought this hoping for more of a “set it and forget it” type of appliance since I work a lot and wanted something that would keep my floors clean without much attention. Unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience. I often had to redo the mapping or move the vacuum around so it could recognize spaces and objects properly. There were a few positives though. The app is very helpful and easy to use, and the vacuum communicates clearly through notifications. It lets you know when things like the water level or cleaning bin need attention, which I appreciated. Maintenance like emptying it isn’t required very often either. It’s also a little noisy. Not extremely loud, but it talks frequently and you definitely know when it’s running. Since I work third shift and sleep during the day, that was a bit frustrating. Another issue was that it struggled to cross small entry thresholds between rooms. Even a small lip between rooms would sometimes stop it from moving into another space. In the end, I decided to return it. While it does vacuum fairly well, the navigation issues and constant adjustments made it more of a hassle than a convenience. For the price, I expected something more hands-off, and unfortunately it required more attention than it was worth for me.

Great and Easy to Use!
Size: 11S
Background: I have a shedding dog, so I bought this in hopes that by running it every-day, it would pick up on some of the dog hair on the floor. What I like: -VERY easy to use. -easy to follow instructions -has a sticker on the bottom so if it ever stops and beeps, you can flip it over and it says exactly what the beeps mean (one beep means one thing, two beeps means another--which is SUPER helpful!). -color on top clearly shows what mode it is in (blue-ready to go, orange-needs to charge, red-problem to fix-such as emptying the tray). -very quiet. I can work on stuff with it in the room and it does not bother me at all (my dog also does not mind it). -works great on white carpet and easily transitions from my living room to dining room (which has a slight bump). -when its low on battery, it does not die where it is at, it just turns off the vacuum then finds the home doc and charges itself. -just works really well. I run it everyday and I am impressed by how much stuff it gets (especially when it goes under things such as the couch). -if it gets caught on a cord, it usually takes 5-10 seconds but then it stops the suctioning and moves away (releasing the cord or other item). However if you have a small cord you should put it up (and you should regardless, I just noticed it doing this a few times and thought it was neat, but I do try to pick up all cords). What could be improved: -nothing really in particular to this. -It does not work well on anything black, but this is true for all robot vacuums. It sometimes gets stuck when it goes on the black carpet we have with the black chairs (I suspect because it can not detect them), but this has not happened often. My dog has a black mat for her food and water and it always bumps into it and spills the water, but again, this would occur with any robot vacuum. -Also, make sure the doc is against a wall because otherwise it will move and never charge (self explanatory, but I did not do the first time and it kept trying to doc and was just pushing the doc around the floor). -Finally, you do have to dump out the vacuum particles almost every time you run it (if you do a full circle/battery cycle). It is really easy to dump and beeps when it needs to be emptied. Again, nothing really negative, just something to note. Overall, I really like this! It does a nice job cleaning up the dog hair and other things that get on my floor and saves me a lot of time not vacuuming daily. If you have a dog, I would watch them with this first before you use it. My dog was initially scared of it but sniffed it's "butt" and now they are cool and she does not mind it at all. Pleased with this product and would recommend! :) **UPDATE** On another note, Eufy has amazing customer service! I received an email from them addressing each of my "what could be improved" components with more information on the product. Very impressed.
